A Note from Becky Reeves, upon completing Disney's Aladdin Jr.
What I did on my Summer Vacation Summer of 2005 was spent at school. This was not summer school, but summer vacation with nearly seventy-five children from across four West Tennessee counties. Children came in large numbers when they heard that Nite Lite Theatre would be presenting "Aladdin Jr." as the summer children's theatre production. It would be done in a workshop format to allow the children to learn make-up, stage presence, set design and costuming. All of our sessions would lead up to the production itself. Most of what was seen onstage was done by the children during the workshops. There is absolutely no way to thank all of those who have made this production possible. "It takes a village to raise a child" can by interpreted to mean "It takes many people to produce a show!" From costumers to set decorators to lights and sound, everyone has had a role to play. We have laughed, played, danced, sang songs and just had fun! Thanks to all the parents who have worked to get children here for rehearsals. As we begin the 25th season of Nite Lite Theatre, we hope you enjoyed Disney's Aladdin Jr. We are fortunate indeed to have community theater rich and alive in West Tennessee. Thanks for your support of the arts just by being part of us, and for supporting our cast and crew. Let's look to the future and see twenty-five more years of theatre here in West Tennessee. There's no telling where that "Magic Carpet" ride will take us! Thanks so much!
